What happened afterward
- April 22, 2020. Bolsonaro's message to Moro: Valeixo's departure was "decided" for that week, and Moro could say "just the form. At his request or ex officio."
“Moro, o Valeixo sai nessa semana. Isto está decidido. Você pode dizer apenas a forma. A pedido ou ex oficio [sic]” source
source - April 24, 2020. The act was published in the Official Gazette (DOU) as "at his request" and republished in a special edition without that justification. source
- May 25, 2020. The Presidency's General Secretariat admitted to the Federal Police (PF) that Moro's name was included in the act without his knowledge, claiming it was customary practice. source
How they explained it
In the sources read, we did not find testimony or a public statement by Maurício Valeixo himself on whether or not he agreed to leave at his own request. In his address, Bolsonaro cites an account that Valeixo told superintendents he had wanted to leave since January (source: Poder360 transcript), and Moro says he only agreed to leave under pressure (statement of April 24, 2020).
Sources of the events
A WhatsApp message from Bolsonaro to Moro on April 22, 2020, 6:26 a.m., reproduced by Estado de S. Paulo from the phone Moro handed to the PF, said that Valeixo's departure was decided for that week; Moro replied at 6:37 a.m. asking for a personal conversation.

Limitations: Images of the messages not examined; text as per the newspaper's reproduction, cited by Poder360. Bolsonaro did not contest the authenticity in the sources read (we did not locate any contestation).
Valeixo's dismissal was published in the Official Gazette of April 24, 2020 as if it were 'at his own request' and, in the late afternoon, republished in an extra edition without that justification.

Limitations: Editions of the Official Gazette (DOU) not consulted. The expression 'extra edition' and the absence of the justification do not appear in the Jornal de Brasília article (May 25, 2020), which confirms only the republication without Moro's signature (project audit).
In an official letter to the PF, the Presidency's General Secretariat admitted that Moro's name was included in Valeixo's dismissal decree without his knowledge, claiming routine practice and 'oversight', not illegality; the government republished the decree without the signature.
